I have decided to rather upload my photographs in the journalism section of dA..where they should be
as each photograph tells a story for me and I remember each and every person I have photographed.

This was one of the kids in Soweto..
It was nice to see the interaction between some of the tourists i was with, and these kids..
What really surprised me was that not one of them asked for money or food...which is really strange because if you take pics of the kids in the Congo..most of the time you have to give the parents money..or even the kids..
but then again..the joy I feel everytime I can capture the innocence of a child..is worth every cent/penny/franc/dollar/shilling/kwacha...depending on the country I am in :)

For various reasons I don't agree with giving to beggars, however tempting it may often be. But paying a modelling fee is a different matter entirely.

i wish i could pay my models
i actually spent about $20 on the shoot i did today
but i think the kids enjoyed the photography , and seeing themselves in the viewfinder, much more than recieving a few dollars to buy themselves some sweets

Don't you ever wish you could show them thier images? I often think of buying a polaroid camera and trading a picture for the op to photograph them - many people have almost no pictures of themselves. Damn pricey these day tho :(

Another great one from you, lovely DOF....

I sometimes do manage to get some pics printed and framed for the kids that i take pics of..
but it really is difficult, with no photo printer out here or anyplace close by that can develop digital prints :(
